The tuna fishery management plan seeks sustainable, fair and responsible exploitation of the tuna species and is part of the commitments of Morocco regarding the arrangements of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas. (ICCAT).
Morocco is an obligatory passageway for the Bluefin tuna during their spawning migration from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean (nesting place), and during their return from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic (feeding migration).
This plan strengthens the monitoring and application system of national and international management measures (ICCAT).
